Sex and Money

From CNN, quoted by Tyler Cowen:

When young men were shown erotic pictures, they were more likely to make a larger financial gamble than if they were shown a picture of something scary, such as a snake, or something neutral, such as a stapler, university researchers reported.
The arousing pictures lit up the same part of the brain that lights up when financial risks are taken.

...The study conforms with recent research that indicates men shown a pornographic movie were more likely to make riskier sexual decisions. Another suggests straight men think less about their financial future after being shown pictures of pretty women.

Hence a justification for women Central bankers?

marketeers have figured this out a long time ago.. that's why you always have scantily clad women at car/boat/(insert other manly object) shows.. it helps potential customers come to a decision to buy..

Haha, it is still cool to have a controlled experiment to properly verify it.

Hmm, this explains why my pretty car dealer is doing so well...

Come to this topics. Make me wonder agaian and again.
Why should the government gave a scholarship to this child prodigy in 1997 who gain entry into Oxford and drop her studies and panties to become a hooker for 130pound? Many brilliant and deserving Malaysians are being deny scholarships to even a local educations. It is so unfair.

just the other day a jilted g/f asked me " what is it she has that I don't, that made him choose her ?"

I consoled the dear friend, " you have a master's degree, write fantastic critical yet analytical reports on clients proposals for EXCO's approval, always write TQ notes etc., definitely ITS WHAT SHE DOESN'T HAVE THAT ATTRACTED HIM TO HER "
